Dr Paul Cornwell, Product Development Executive (Hair Care), Research and Development for PZ Cussons (UK) Ltd, contacted InSyde Software as they had a problem with the large volume of paper based technical reports, case studies and product research data.

The main problem, apart from the space issue, was to find a way to unlock the contents of the files to a point where any report or even a paragraph within a report could be accessed without the need to spend hours trolling though the masses of paper archive.

The solution was to use InSyde Softwares Bureau Service to scan the files and convert them into full text searchable Adobe PDF images with each separate file and report being bookmarked. Now, by using the Adobe PDF reader Dr Cornwell and his team can search every document by a title, phrase or even a word. Adobe returns a list of every occurrence it finds and details the document(s) there in. Clicking on any of the returns instantly takes them to the appropriate page allowing them to read, print or click to the next listed page.

New reports and information will be scanned and added to the data archive.
